Narcissist

So, Kyle loves to see himself in that video online. He loves to sit on my lap while I'm on the computer, and he's gotten to the point where he will throw a fit until I log onto my blog and play the video for him. Then if I navigate away from the page, he throws another fit! The whole time the video is playing, he is just sitting there smiling at it. It's so funny! But do you think he knows that it is him? Hmm...I don't know.

He's a Maniac!

Here's our cute little crawler. He finally mastered crawling around Thanksgiving, and he is really getting around now. He's into everything, and since the knees of his pants and his socks on the top of his feet are filthy, he's also encouraging me to clean the floors more often!

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...AQUA-CRAWLER!

My kiddo is a NUT! He refuses to try very hard to crawl on dry land, but he LOVES the tub. He tries harder to crawl in there, but it is so slippery that he always face-plants and gets a face full of water. Luckily, he thinks that it is hilarious. Here are a few pictures of Aquaboy in action!

New pics of Kyle

Yeah, I know I'm a slacker, but I just barely got these pics off my mom's camera. Aren't they cute?
He was my little Alfalfa for Halloween!

Toothie

Kyle has a tooth! I have to admit, I feel like a negligent mom. I didn't even know he was teething. He has been acting normal, if not better than normal, lately. Yesterday, I was lying on the floor near him, and he grabbed my hand and started chewing on it, and I felt his little razor-sharp tooth! He hates having his face messed with, so he wouldn't let me look at it, but today I got a peek while he was squawking during church. It is so cute, but so sad. He's not going to be my little gummy newborn anymore.

Here is a cute new picture of Kyle in a hat. SO CUTE!

"Looks Like We Got A Nodder!"

Just a few updates on silly little Kyle:

He is dangerously close to crawling! He gets on his knees and rocks back and forth. He thinks he is pretty awesome (which he is).

He's learned to nod his head! We were in Old Navy not too long ago, and they had some music playing, and he started bobbing his head to the music. It was soooo cute! Now he does it all the time, and he even shakes his head "no."

He'll kill me in 14 years for telling this, but it was funny. Today he had the mega-blowin'-outest diaper of all time. It basically shot out north and south and it was a total mess. Since he loves to roll, he has a habit of rolling over onto his tummy while I'm changing his diapers, and it usually isn't a big problem, except for today. He got a blanket that he was laying on all poopy, and while I ran into the bathroom to start some bathwater for him (because the diaper really was that bad) he started rolling around on his carpet stark naked and still a bit messy! Ricky came home while he was in the bath, and immediately smelled the mess. It took both of us about 15 minutes to fully clean up the disaster!

Finally, I figured out about 20 minutes ago that he loves the word "zip." Every time I have said it to him, he gives me a big grin and starts nodding!

I'm Quirk-tastic!

First off- thanks for the suggestions on improving my blog. I'm getting better, really!
Second off- Jess tagged me with the quirk-bug and I have to post my 6 biggest quirks. Good thing I have to stop at 6. My list of quirks could be loooooong.

1-I like to eat frozen stuff. Some stuff is just so good frozen, like chocolate chips, Milk Duds, Ding Dongs, grapes, etc. Ricky gets annoyed that I always put our treats in the freezer.

2-I'm an obsessive reader. Not just books, but everything. If anything is left lying around, like junk mail, newsletters, anything, I have to read it. So don't leave stuff where I can find it if you don't want me to know about it!

3-When I blow my nose it sounds like a fog horn.

4-I like to stand on stuff, like chairs or step-stools or whatever. Mom said that I've always done that, and I don't know why. I think it's because you get a different view from up higher, and that makes life a little more interesting.

5-Like Jessica and Amber, I am a compulsive list-maker. On my daily to-do list, I list what lists I need to make, like menus, shopping lists, packing lists, books I want lists. That's pretty sad. Sometimes I even write down the things that I had already done that day, just so I can cross them off my list. It feels soooo good.

6-I'm a total germ-a-phobe. When I come into any house from anywhere, I automatically feel like my hands are dirty and that I need to wash them. Even if I washed them right before I left and only walked outside to get the mail.

Ricky just walked in and said that one of my annoying quirks is that I wash brand new clothes before we wear them (I'm only a stickler about this with Kyle). He also finds it weird that I have kept all of the owners manuals of all the products I've ever owned (which isn't true, because a few months ago before we moved, I went through my file of manuals and threw away the ones for the products that I no longer own).

Oh yeah, I tag Laura, Val, and Michelle.

Me Dum Dum. Need help.

I need help. In more ways than one. I have been trying to jazz up my blog, but I don't know how to or what to do or anything. Can anyone give me suggestions? How do I put slide shows, playlists, new backgrounds, etc. on there?

Blowing Raspberries

Kyle's new favorite thing it to blow raspberries, and he's really good at making them nice and slobbery and sharing that slobber. It's even more fun when he does it while I'm trying to feed him cereal. But the funniest was the other night. He woke up in the middle of the night to eat, and after I was done feeding him, I went to put him back in bed. He was asleep as I was carrying him, but he started blowing raspberries in his sleep. It was sooo funny!

Vacation!

So a few weeks ago after we got to Idaho, Ricky and I decided that we needed a vacation, since the last time we took one together was our honeymoon. And no, driving across the country while we were moving did NOT count as a vacation! So we went to Island Park for a few days and stayed at Grandma's cabin, drove through Yellowstone, and then drove through Grand Teton National Park. We had a fab time. It was nice to be out in nature. It's been years since I've enjoyed being outside for any extended amount of time (no offense, Arkansas). Kyle had a good time, too, even though he was in the car again for hours. But he was a little trooper. We got some pretty good pictures, too. Enjoy!

Kkkkkaaaaarrrrllll!

Here are some pictures of our cuteness, Kyle (aka Karl - I don't know why, but I called him Karl one day when he was just wee. It must have been the sleep deprivation or something). He is growing up so fast, and somehow just keeps getting cuter!

Our first post!

We finally have internet! After too long without internet access, we finally have it! (Thank you, graduate school, for necessitating this!) Hopefully, I'll be able to figure this blog stuff out. Until then, deal with my dum-dum-ness. I'll work on getting some cute cute pictures of our cute cute boy on here, too.
